Dodo Skeleton

A Reconstruction of Wholeness

I have a passion for collecting objects, but some things are simply out of reach. That’s when I thought, why not make a sculpture instead? This idea led me to the dodo skeleton.

During my research, I rarely encountered complete skeletons. And when I did, they were always reconstructions, assembled from bones of multiple specimens. A fully original dodo skeleton does not exist, so I decided to create my own.

I visited museums in Brussels, Paris, and Leiden to document dodo remains in detail. Using this material, I pieced together a sculpture that represents the most complete version of the dodo skeleton as we might imagine it today.
